new model single six cylinder

I have new model single six in 32 H&R mag. that will not lockup on two consecutive positions on cylinder. Just wandering if this can be repaired or the cylinder should be replaced.

I would think it would depend on what is causing the bolt not to lock up. Is the cylinder not turning all the way, can you turn the cylinder into the locked position after the hammer is cocked? If it is an indexing problem in could be the indexing pawl.

Does the cylinder bolt latch into the cylinder well? Could it be the bolt is a little two wide to fit those two notches but fits ok in the others? Do those two notches show any kind of damage or rounding of the corners in the notch? Pictures may help but you may just need to have a gunsmith take a look.

Does this condition surface under ALL conditions. What I mean is that if you "robustly" pull the hammer back to full cock will the troublesome chambers lock up? How do those chambers do when you pull the hammer back to full cock "very slowly"? (which is the true test IMHO)

the cylinder reacts the same weather you slow cock it or robustly cock it just on the two positions on the cylinder mentioned.

I'd first look for "burrs" in the "bolt cuts" in the cylinder.
Next I'd closely watch the cylinder latch as it enters all six "bolt cuts".
I'm guessing that the two "troublesome" areas will exhibit similar behavior.
It's very possible that the cylinder is not quite rotated far enough to allow the
cylinder latch to properly engage. That situation can be rectified by "stretching"
the second tooth on the pawl which will "speed up" the timing.
Pawls are cheap. A guy should have spares on hand.
