From Ruger at SHOT.
The first couple hundred shipped with two front sights, after which the decision was made to ship with only one.

If you buy one now & only get what's on the gun, that's why.

They still put more effort into the MC than other GP versions, it's just balancing out what they need to make a profit vs what the market is willing to spend.

Wow. That's damn cheap of them when you look at how much they cost.

That was my first thought also ... however , thinking back , Ruger has sent me several replacement " rear" blades. A white outline for my Bisley and a new blade for my SRH after I had broken the rear blade. ( oops ) I had expected to pay ... but the customer service rep said "no , we'll just send ya one out". Maybe , just maybe a phone call would get ya the other front sight if ya needed it.

Your probably right on. If you had an issue with your sight a simple phone call to Ruger and they would probably send you the other size free of charge.

I imagine most of the spares would just be lost anyway, once one load is settled on.

For sure. It's really doubtful that people would be switching out front sights regularly.

One is for 38 special, the other for 357. If I owned the gun, I'd be switching them out constantly.

Groo here
If you have that much trouble just order a 1911 Novak adj sight to replace the rear fixed.

I was surprised to find that all four of my GP`s will shoot all three of these loads to the same point of impact (within an inch or so)at 30'
160gr.RNFP over 2.7gr 700X
148gr. Speer HBWC over 3 gr. Bullseye
158gr. Hornady JHC over 14.5gr. 2400
It`s not like they are way off. Good enough for practice.
