I have been meaning to work up a similar load for myself, except I intend to use a hardcast 265 grain wfngc bullet from Beartooth bullets in Idaho.
I have loaded to 13 and 13.5 grains of (Hercules, not Alliant) Blue Dot under a Speer Gold Dot HP. 13 grains is max for the Speer 260 grain jhp in the Speer 14 reloading manual. Standard primers ONLY.
Its about as hot as I would ever go in a small framed 45 Colt. It makes the little Montado jump, but it's still controllable and the revolver handles it well.
I haven't fired it over the sky screens from the Montado, but a 6-shot string in a 4-inch S&W 625 mt Gun averaged 1,008 fps with the 250 GDHP.
I think you could work up a similar load with your 250 grain lead bullet.
