Im waiting on a custom redhawk from Jack Huntington from JRH Advanced Gunsmithing right now. It'll look something like this one. It'll be a 5 shot 475 linebaugh.

Cool! The way it sounds you are lucky to get on Jack's list.

The 475L would be more fun than I would want to have with that handle. Maybe on a Super....

Ive been waiting about a year. Im guessing it will be done this year. Ive never had one of his customs but ive only heard great things about his work.

With Jack now retired you are fortunate you got on his list before he closed his books! The the retirement of Jack, Hamilton Bowen, David Clement, Jim Stroh and passing of both John Linebaugh and John Gallagher has been a great loss to the custom revolver community. Even Alan Harton has stopped working on Rugers and Dustin Linebaugh had stopped taking work for right now due to work backlogs.

Yeah im very thankful that I got on jack huntington's list a few years ago I spoke with John Linebaugh on the phone for about 30 minutes. It was an honor to speak with him over the phone. He was awesome and had a wealth of knowledge. Last year I spoke on the phone with mister Hamilton Bowen and he was the same way. I still can't believe that I have spoken with the most premier revolver makers of our time. I feel truly blessed!!

A couple things about grips. First, last time I was in Robs shop he said he didn't want to do any more giraffe bone grips due to inconsistencies from one set to the other as far as internal pores go. Second, Rob has a 5 year wait list and he said he is limiting what he even puts at the end of his list right now. You might check with Zane at Lone Star Custom Grips and see if he is accepting orders right now. He does a fantastic job on DA grips.

I see lone star innovations and I see Zane with Thompson gun and knife. Do you have a link to the custom grip maker's website or what is the specific company called?

So where does one now get custom work done on Redhawks and Blackhawks these days?
I had my 5.5" Redhawk customized by "Third Stone Gunworks" about 30+ years ago, been wanting to have my 7.5" Redhawk accurized as well. I have a couple Blackhawks that may need some attention also.

A guy could contact John Powers or Andy Horvath or I know Larry Crow of Competitive Edge Gunworks is still doing revolver work. He is building a a custom long cylinder bisley with ribbed barrel right now and recently sent me three grip frames for sheephorn grips for clients projects he is working on.

The last redhawk Jack Huntington customized. 5 shot 475 Linebaugh. Vintage anaconda barrel. Rogers rams horn stocks.

Absolutely Gorgeous!! Your choice in model, barrel length and barrel, caliber, and grips are exquisite! You, Sir, have champagne taste. Toasting to you and your new acquisition. 🍺 🍾

I just feel blessed to have Jack's last custom redhawk. He isn't doing anymore since he is retired now and there aren't many more of those type of gunsmiths still out there doing this type of work anymore. It's very humbling.
