Ive been waiting about a year. Im guessing it will be done this year. Ive never had one of his customs but ive only heard great things about his work.Cool! The way it sounds you are lucky to get on Jack's list.
The 475L would be more fun than I would want to have with that handle. Maybe on a Super....
Well that one is not mine. Mine is going to look almost like that one. Its going to be chambered in 475 linebaughOooh! A Couger! I love the look of those. I always liked the vent rib of the Colt barrels. What's it chambered in?
Congratulations! Are you going to send it to Rowen for grips (picured gun has Rowen grip panels)?Im waiting on a custom redhawk from Jack Huntington from JRH Advanced Gunsmithing right now. It'll look something like this one. It'll be a 5 shot 475 linebaugh.
I think i should because those look awesome. Do I just Google search Bowen grips? This is the first I think that ive heard of them.Congratulations! Are you going to send it to Rowen for grips (picured gun has Rowen grip panels)?
I see now what you are speaking of. I wonder if he could do giraff bone stocks for me.Congratulations! Are you going to send it to Rowen for grips (picured gun has Rowen grip panels)?
I see lone star innovations and I see Zane with Thompson gun and knife. Do you have a link to the custom grip maker's website or what is the specific company called?A couple things about grips. First, last time I was in Robs shop he said he didn't want to do any more giraffe bone grips due to inconsistencies from one set to the other as far as internal pores go. Second, Rob has a 5 year wait list and he said he is limiting what he even puts at the end of his list right now. You might check with Zane at Lone Star Custom Grips and see if he is accepting orders right now. He does a fantastic job on DA grips.
With Jack now retired you are fortunate you got on his list before he closed his books! The the retirement of Jack, Hamilton Bowen, David Clement, Jim Stroh and passing of both John Linebaugh and John Gallagher has been a great loss to the custom revolver community. Even Alan Harton has stopped working on Rugers and Dustin Linebaugh had stopped taking work for right now due to work backlogs.
I can't figure out how to personal message you. Can you email me at [email protected] please?shoot me a pm and I will send you my phone and email.
I just feel blessed to have Jack's last custom redhawk. He isn't doing anymore since he is retired now and there aren't many more of those type of gunsmiths still out there doing this type of work anymore. It's very humbling.Absolutely Gorgeous!! Your choice in model, barrel length and barrel, caliber, and grips are exquisite! You, Sir, have champagne taste. Toasting to you and your new acquisition.![]()
