Interesting NM Single Seven

I purchased a single seven parts kit online and received it today.

I just noticed the front sight is the special one for the blued model 8165 but the parts I bought were from a stainless steel 8160. Rear sight is the standard sight. I have included a couple of photos.

So my question is....is this a factory assembly - oooops , or a new production variation?

Could have happened at the factory, or the owner changed it out.

That front sight was made by "XS Sights!"

Now,, if Ruger put those on a Single_six,, it will likely have a notation in the model nomenclature.

Nope, first off,,, most 327M’s are referred as Single SEVEN’s.
Exceptions; the 8 shot Blackhawk & DA’s.

OP mentioned the model number correctly, model 8165. (Lipsey’s exclusive) but then again most of the 327M Single Seven’s have been Lipsey’s exclusive….eah?
That is where the “sight“ first showed up on a Ruger.

I don’t think the sight is hard to get,,, and if I we’re guessing, I would say it was probably installed by a previous owner. The 8165 came out long after the 8160, and have been very limited in numbers.

But again,, reference to the first sentence…

You mis-understood what I was trying to convey.

Notice in your ad by Lipsey's;
"8165 XS SGTS"
That indicates the XS sights. That's PART of what I was saying.

However,, if Ruger put the sights on a SINGLE_SIX,, it too would have a notation in the model info,, just like the Single-Seven above.

But the OP did only mention the Single-Seven,, so I guess I muddied the waters a bit.
I would hazard a guess that the stainless Single-Sevens also used the blued front sight. Similar to other models.
