When putting away a few extremely low ser # Deerstalkers, to my surprise in the box was the complete package, owners manual, the envelope, 44 Deerstalker Poster! and the oddest little card. SR 21 on it. I have never seen this before. QC inspector number? Rugers 21 club or VIP tag? I got no idea, but cool stuff... your thoughts...Mr. Deerstalker!

Wonder if that gun was at some time sold through or donated by RCA. ….. ??? ……

Or that’s the bid card from bidder 21 at an RCA auction?

im leaning to a 21 club member? RCA started in the 70s,
this is a 1961 Rifle...

....yes, but the rifle was most likely auctioned off at one of the RCA banquet dinners , and happened to be "item No 21", possibly even 'donated' to help raise funds as was always done, even ROCS today will take in items for auction to raise funds....

all too often over the years, we have come across items in the box, with a gun that just does NOT 'jibe' with the date of the gun and the paperwork in the box, like a manual for a 1978 or 79 year mark, with a gun that was made and shipped in 1973..

and the same goes for "parts", changed, like grips and cylinders.......

I've never seen one of those cards/tags. But it's a neat find for sure.

Since the card with the “21” on it also has the RCA logo, i am sure it doesn’t date before the RCA was founded, not a factory card so nothing to do with the 21 club….

oh man. I just noticed it was an RCA card. duh....Pretty sure it would have been an RCA sale or something like that.

Lee Newton would probably know if that #51 Deerstalker was put up on the big RCA auction, 1986 I think it was.

To my understanding that 86 RCA sale was alot of guns the FOB gang and family members of Ruger. Steven Vogel was very active in this im sure. RCA guy and married into the family. Steve Married Bill & Mary Ruger daughter Caroline. so this makes sense...
