Frontier scope mount question

m77 frontier compact 243 cal stainless laminated grey stock question. If putting bases and scope on receiver,would you remove the forward base mount on the barrel or leave it and use taller rings On receiver. ?Thanks. Hope you all understand question

I have a thin face so always go with the lowest possible mounting system. YMMV as some would say.
The answer may depend on what diameter front lens your scope has.
