Is there a link to where classes are held, schedules, costs and such for these classes? Has anyone here been to the classes and could you offer any thoughts? I believe a class of this type may be a good thing for my wife Penny and me.
Thanks. Don.

I just did a quick search & came up with this https://rtbav.nra.org/
Hope it helps.

My Miss Penny got set up to teach this,,, but due to the way the NRA had the class structure & requirements,,, we never did any. The expense of having the "props" was just one of the issues. The NRA is strict in that; "It's our way or not at all with our name on it." We do understand that. But we were not out to make money on it, and to recover the expenses to do the classes,, we chose to not go into it.

But,, it IS a good class, and if you can,,, you should make it. A lot of it is common sense,,, but often not things you actually think of.

Don, I checked the link as well and went out 200 miles which is the max and there is nothing in this area. I'm sure Tyrone is correct, NRA's rules are their way or the high way. That's why I don't teach handgun classes, it get's expensive. From that perspective 130 miles may not be that bad if you get some good tips out of it.

Does anyone know what one of these seminars cost to attend? The link didn't show a price.

The cost of these classes is set by each instructor. But to break it down,,, there is NRA class materials to be purchased, and THEN you determine what to charge. And if you do small classes,, you have to charge a lot more to cover expenses & such. If you do larger classes,, it's hard to keep on track & get the material out & well covered.
This was another reason we chose to NOT do classes.

It was suggested by a forum member for me to start a thread about some of the stuff you'd learn in one of the classes. However,,, if I mention the NRA or the RTBV in any form,,, it can cause issues with legal at NRA, (and potentially by lawyers if ever used & an issue with a thug comes into play.)

So, maybe we can have an open discussion, in a different thread about things we can or should do to help prevent us from being targeted by thugs.
