Converting 32 Mag to Bisley question

I have a Bisley Single Six in 22 cal and a 6.5" 32 H&R Single Six. Can I swap out the parts to make the 32 into a Bisley or will I run into problems going from rim fire to center fire?

I think you'll find all the parts you are talking about will interchange. the only exception may be the fit of the "ears" on the grip frame to the cylinder frame on each side of the hammer. My 32 single six had short ears compared to my newer single six convertible. I also added a Bisley hammer to my 32 and just purchased a single six bisley hammer, the part did not differentiate between 32 and 22.

This is a complete factory Bisley 22 with which I would be switching parts with a complete factory 6.5" 32 mag. Everything is factory. Just a little parts switching to make a Bisley 32 and a standard 6.5" 22 lr.

Should work - just give it a try. Nothing irreversible about that. The gripframe to mainframe fit may not be too good or it might be just fine.

There's no mechanical or function issues in making the swap; just fitting.
The sides of the grip frames will not match up perfectly but will be close enough.

Measure the height of the 'ears' around the hammer base. The 32s were from an earlier period before Ruger standardized the height to the taller Bisley frame height.

Therefore the Bisley ears are too tall for the 32 but can be fitted and touched up with cold blue. The plowhandle ears will be too short for the 22. You'd have to file down the main frame to match and touch up.

Then the grip frames would be interchangeable and you could always swap back and forth.

Not sure if you were asking about my conversion or the OP's conversion. If you were asking about me adding Bisley hammer to a single six, I purchased the Bisley hammer from Midway but it is a Ruger part. I had to take off some material from the back of the hammer body because I was not using a Bisley frame.
