Howdy all. Have a 10/22 and would like to change the bolt handle out for a Volquartsen extended bolt handle. Can someone post instructions on how to do that? Pictures, if possible, would greatly help.

Thanks

Mike

Got an owner's manual? There's an exploded parts diagram in the back that's pretty self-explanatory.

If you don't have one, you can get a hardcopy from Ruger free for the asking.... or, I'm pretty sure you can get a .pdf on line at their website.

While you should get a manual, check Ruger's website as I'm pretty sure they have videos of all that there...disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, etc.

My method is to pay very careful attention when I disassemble the gun, then re-assembly, with the manual...and then it only takes me two or three tries. But read the manual before you start! After the first time, you'll wonder what the big deal was, it is pretty straight forward.

Found em! Go here:http://ruger.com/resources/videos.html# and watch the 10/22 videos.

Mr BlkHawk,

THANK YOU for the links. I searched the Ruger site today and couldn't find the video section; your link and those videos are exactly what I needed.

Thank you again

Does the Ruger manual actually show how to remove the bolt handle? I've never seen that... how to remove the bolt yes, but not the handle...

then again, I would suspect that if you buy the extended handle from Voltq... they should and would include instructions with it.

blume357 - Time to tear down a 10/22 to refresh your memory.... once you have the bolt removed, the handle, guide rod, & spring just lift out. In fact, they often fall out on their own.

wwb... you know something? you are exactly right!

You'll have to excuse me... my brain is fried as of late from the heat... two hours a day up on 160+ degree roofs will do that to you especially when you get past 50.....
