Calling all prayer warriors

Had my surgery yesterday, the surgeon said multiple times he felt good about the surgery. And didn't anticipate any problems. I thought it was interesting that he said my bone density was very good, they couldn't drive some screws in, they had to start over and drill them and tap them.
Stayed over night, expect to be released by noon. I appreciate the prayers so much and believe they accounted for how well things went.

Very good news! Thanks for the update! How's that cell phone working, one handed?:)

"They have a few lined up..." That sounds like they've got someone who does a lot of these. Encouraging. My wife got a total knee replacement last November. They had a few lined up then. She's off to her SAIL (ladies exercise) group this AM. There will be pain. There will be a need for ongoing therapy. AND there will be (Lord willing) improvement and success. Phil. 2:13.
God bless.

These surgeries have come a long way there’s plenty of dr’s that do them, plenty of dr’s that do them well, and some that specialize in a certain type. The one I used, is pretty good at several. Truth is you can talk to a lot of people that have had various surgeries, but that doesn’t mean, their problem was the same as yours. A friend just had the same surgery and his was bone on bone, mine was an injury. We had different problems, got different instructions on healing up. I figured his was easier and he’d heal quicker. I heard it takes 6 months to a year to recover, he’s 12 weeks into his and is healed enough, he scheduled surgery on the other shoulder. The same dr did his hip when he fell and.broke it.
Mine is off to a very good start. Choose Wisely pilgrim.

Bump. Day 3 the pain blocker has pretty much worn off. I’m stiff and sore, but trying to stay ahead of real pain. About 3 times a day, I get up and brace myself next to something steady(heavy oak kitchen table) for balance and swing my arm, back and forth and in circles. I start actual physical therapy next Wednesday but I want to keep things moving. It would be real easy to do nothing and get locked up.
So far I’m still very pleased with the outcome.

Bump day 4. Wearing that sling is enough to drive a guy crazy. Don’t know if I mentioned it, and I’m not even sure what’s normal, but they had to move a tendon from my bicep to my pectoral. I think the arm is designed to hang full length and not bent in an L. I will sleep in my sling so my arm doesn’t fall, but the rest of the day I want my arm to hang like it normally does.

Still using the kitchen table for balance, and bent at the waist letting my arm hang and swinging my arm as much as I can. I start PT on Wednesday, but many doctors are giving the surgery appendage time to heal. Not a bad idea as far as I’m concerned.
