One thing about the average age on this forum being 127 or so. That when members ask for prayer many respond and with the average age being up there many have experienced the reason for the request themselves and the responses of sympathy and understanding come from the heart and from experience.
This comes to mind
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (ESV) scriptureriver.com. 2 Corinthians 1 vs 3&4.

Were we raised differently? Of course, it was a different world. But there are still a lot of folks out there that hold themselves to the same types of standards we do. Got a couple of them. We just have to believe that in the future folks like my kids continue to "raise kids right".

127? I'm reborn a pup at only 61.5 yrs of age!

According to the age branding I'm a "boomer". Fine with me. I may have been the very tail end of "boomer" but as Jeepnik stated we were raised different. I raised my kids different than others I suppose. Especially my youngest who is only 21. His friends, and even some of their parents, thought I was too harsh on him. Meh.....My oldest Daughter (37) has become a bit "soft" on my Grandson. His visits here are an awakening. My 2nd Grandchild is expected any minute.....those in-laws are way different and that Grandchild will be loved as any other....but treated as any other when on my property. It's nothing most of us hear would object to...but to the newer generations it's capital punishment. I am what I am.......there's already a concern about the new Grandchild from the "other" Grandparents of what "influence" I will have. Meh....love God, United States of America, Family, Friends and work hard and earn your way. Serving your Country doesn't hurt.

My youngest Son and many of his friends I coached in football from 5 years of age until high school graduation are now serving our country in the Navy, Marines, and Army. Those boys are hard working, love to get dirty and love Family and Brotherhood......two (02) of them are over "there" right now.
