Can a brass grip frame still be had? Where would one nose around for them?

Gunbroker and eBay will be the only places that you'll find them "readily" at present. I'm not aware of anyone making them commercially at present.

I am in troutman next to mooresville. Are you wanting to sell a complete gun with them or just the frame? You can PM the answer

No one that I know of is currently in production.

Old Model,
New Model,
Dragoon,
XR3-RED,
Bisley,
Factory,
After Market??

Lot's of options, and now days AM usually ~$250,
Factory ~$350,
and the Bisley's have been known to pull over $400, kinda rare.

A pile of Brass...

By the way I would like to see pics of some....while i search...

Have picked up a handful over the last few years. Some made it to hosts already, some are awaiting fitting, others...well, they just sit idle and wait for me to make up my mind what to do with 'em.

One brass Bisley done, one awaiting a host.
One brass birdshead awaits fitting
Four brass dragoons await ideas for their use.

They're out there but usually come out of hiding whan you're not looking for them.

How well does the brass grip-frame hold up, compared to the stock one?

Well, brass is "heavier" than Ruger's aluminum versions. It's easy to "shine up" again after it's tarnished. I have no hesitations at all to take my shooters out in the field.

You'd think that someone like BOWEN CLASSIC ARMS, POWER CUSTOM, etc would have an eye on this market and provide DRAGOON/HUNTER and/or BISLEY grip frames in brass. It's a small market, but with factory MR3-DB grip frames going for $300+....

The way I understand the story QPR ceased brassie production due to QC issues. Some of the parts were warped beyond help.

I agree, the brassies are pretty cool!

I have several and I still get a bit irrational when I see one for sale.

Ron Powers is going to be making a run of his Ruger 2pc. Colt style grip frames in November/December. I ordered one about six weeks ago and have been trying to sit still but it isnt working.
