SBH Brass Grip Frame?

I would say the MR-3D would verify as original. Unless for some reason, you might think it was faked.

Here's one of my Winter projects. I put an original never installed MR-3DB grip frame on an old model Super Single Six.

It actually fit with no milling required. I merely had to sand and polish to remove the dents and scratches after 50 years of non-use.

The grips are Altamont. I'm still deciding whether I want to put on an ivory set instead.

Please disregard my poor photography. The brass is actually smooth and high polish.

I found these in a bag, These are from my father’s collection of Rugers. If we want to do any modifications like changing to brass, I am hoping it’s a true original Ruger made not aftermarket as he has a few SBH 4 digits in his collection and would be made in the same timeframe.
I wouldn’t know if it was fake or not, that’s why ask this forum for advise and learn somethings. So no I wouldn’t have any reason.

Edit* when I said aftermarket I mean it’s a Ruger original. Based on some information on limited came shipped?

The MR-3D was available from the factory as an accessory, as well as being shipped on some models. That was my point. A lot more MR-3D grip frames shipped than were installed on guns.

Thanks, I’m thinking it was a Ruger after accessories, from the photos they are very good looking on the photos.
Not sure if this brass case we show up with at the range is the same.

We can't get letters currently,, BUT,,,,,, we do have an excellent book resource we can look it up in.
