Super blackhawk grips.

I'm looking for oversized grips for a super blackhawk. Who makes the best? Chig's? Bear paw? Altimount? What is your favorite?

I have Hogue's "cowboy" handles on my Bisley. They are fatter than factory grips and make my H110 45 Colt loads much easier on the hand.

For oversized Super Blackhawk grips, Bear Paw edges out as my favorite for big hands and recoil control, followed closely by Chig's for custom feel, Altamont is solid and more affordable but can be hit-or-miss on fit.

You may already know this. But the Super Blackhawks have different size grips. One for the round trigger guards and one for the square trigger guards.

If you want excellent grips, flip a coin and you've got them. If you want excellent AND absolutely THE BEST LOOKING combined, you want Chigs. Beautiful work and his panels fit my Ruger better than the original factory panels as a bonus.
