That is a modified "Warthog" ground-attack plane. Been around for some decades. Though some want to eliminate it, it keeps proving itself, over and over, because of how effective it is. Officially it is called the A-10 Thunderbolt, but was quickly nicknamed the Warthog by its pilots, because of its ugliness. The placement of its tail surfaces confuses heat-seeking missiles, and it carries a ground-attack cannon about the size and weight of a compact car. The cannon can obliterate a tank in about a two-second burst.
I hope that it remains in the military arsenal.
