Bisley components

Just dawned on me (slow sometimes) that there's been a real shortage of Bisley parts for a while now. For a while there was a bunch , but it's all dried up now. :? Wonder if Ruger has simply been using what they had before starting the newer ones into production in quantities enough to let them go to the rest of us.

Guess I should've got a bunch when I could've. :lol:

Just a quick "note". I have gotten a lot of parts over the years from gunsmiths/gunshops going out of business! Keep your eyes and ears open and check out the gunshows real close. Ask questions. Once upon a time there was this local guy who was a gunsmith and also worked on cameras. His shop was half & half. Half guns and half cameras. I did some gunsmithing for him on the guns he didn't have time to mess with. I noticed over a period of time that he was getting way more camera equipment and less gun inventory. Inquired and found out he was doing away with guns/gunsmithing. He had a lot of parts he had accumulated over the years. All that was left was negotiating an amicable price. Illness, financial problems, waning interest, etc. etc. All kinds of reasons why people go out of business. The early bird catches the worm!.....................Dick :wink:

Know all about the closing shop thing up here (my brother's a BIG parts dealer and buys closing shops, etc occasionally)
After talking with the regional rep today though I found out why the shortage is what it is - Lean manufacturing. Basically the once full "parts room" at the factory isn't kept that way now.

Still it would be nice if they offered conversion kits, the way they used to for the brassies.
