Not so sure working with one hand (age old safety advise when working with electronics) would have saved them... sounds to me like they are making some serious high voltage and it can jump all around.

That said the outcome can look REALLY cool, or just, eh.

In the 80s there was an art gallery in San Francisco that had outer space paintings made using this method. The artist would paint the planets on a sheet of glass and when dry would paint the background and while wet zap it with the voltage to move it around. They looked neat but were pricey. Electrocuting wood and self in the process is not in the definition of fun or smart.

I just make Forestry Service approved cube stacks of trees, wait for the right weather, light them off at day break and get the tractor moving to keep the fire under the stack. Just burned stack 58 from the 4-28-20 torpedo we had here. It is slow but beats getting electrocuted.
CPA said I could claim cost, you mean the seedlings, yep..,,, hum yeah sure, not going to fool with the IRS Mensa members for $300. Stupid makes me loose my patience.
