In the news this week is an example of another way any of us can help our defense of the Second amendment. Our work in Colorado has paid off again.

As a result of long time efforts by NRA members in Colorado, Trinidad State Junior College has formed a partnership with the National Rifle Association creating a department in the College as an NRA Certified Training Center. Trinidad Junior College also has for some time offered courses training gunsmiths, that fits in with the new department.

The College officials announced this week that the partnership was approved by the Department of Education and the Higher Learning Commission.

The new affiliation will allow students to use Federal Financial aid, the GI Bill, and Vocational Rehab Benefits to help pay for their firearms safety training.

Five classes focusing on the essentials necessary to earn NRA Instructor certification credentials become effect at the College February 19, 2015.

Perhaps many of us this site may be able to use this report to help influence other schools in our area to accomplish similar benefits by partnership with the NRA. It takes time but it can be done.

That is great, colleges need to cater to all parts of society including gun owners
and sportsman, about time imo. ps
