There still is good customer service from Ruger. Despite the fact they have discontinued the letter of authenticity.
I sent a Mark II off to be checked and re-blued in December. I got it back three weeks later about middle of January. When I called for the RIA they gave me the specifics on what to do to return it. In that package, I wrote a brief letter stating what I wanted, the pistol function check, any worn parts replaced, and the entire gun blue. I sent it back with grips installed and magazine. I got a call about a week or 10 days after I shipped it off through FedEx. I can’t remember the ladies name and I can’t find my notes but she went over my requests for work on the gun, made a comment that the gun really wasn’t in bad shape with the original blue, but I pointed out the top half of the receiver was lite and faded, and the lower half was still darkly blued. Gave sort of a two tone look. The lady I spoke to was a customer service rep and she was very nice and very polite and made a great impression that she was concerned and interested in getting what I wanted done. My only complaint of the whole process was that they didn’t contact me or email me that they had the firearm in route to be returned to me. I would liked to have had a tracking number at least. I kept waiting and checking my email. It was just about to call when I found the notice on my door that USPS had tried to deliver a package and nobody had answered and I needed to go to their staffed main office to pick it up. If I had known it was en route I would have stayed home and waited for it. All in all, Ruger did a great job. The MKII functions flawlessly and blue is very deep with no dishing out of the pins and nice crisp Ruger seal and nomenclature. They included a letter stating what had been done to the pistol, including the various parts that had been replaced, which was all of the springs and one or two internal parts. I’m extremely impressed on how they handled it with the exception of not making a return notification to me. It all took less than a month from the time I sent in my information to the time it arrived back in town and that was even considering it was over the Christmas holidays.
Good job Ruger.

Ruger customer service has always been top notch. I messed up my LCR 9mm taking it apart, my fault, they sent me a return label for FedEx, free, and fixed it and returned.
