In 1960 (I was 7), I ran my arm through the glass window on the back door, slit my wrist. Luckily it was a vertical cut, not across the wrist so it didn't do major damage and it was my mom who sewed it up with a needle and thread from her sewing basket (6 stitches). Looked as good as any surgeon could do.
When we were stationed at Minot AFB, ND, our base housing unit backed up to a farmers field. When it snowed and blowed in the winter the snow would drift up and over the 4 wire fence. I would cut steps in the drifts so the kids could go sled riding and would sail easily over the 4th wire. I told this to people who weren't country folk and they had no idea what I meant by a 4 wire fence. So I had to explain.
