I bought one the other day, and brought it home and took off the rail, removed all the stock spacers to get the shortest pull, and installed a Leupold 3 x 9 VXII on it, in their Ruger version of low rings. The objective lens clears the barrel by 1/8 inch or less, and it's beautiful. Less than a meter, shoulders like an English field gun, and has a good trigger. It won't kick worth a lick, and is cheap (for 2014) to shoot.
