I have 4 OM 357's I'm going to convert to "something". I have kicked around the 41 mag and 10mm a bunch but keep running into mental road blocks. The 10mm won't gain me much if anything over the 357 and the 41 mag won't gain me anything at all over the 44spl or 45colt in that platform. A good .410 barrel blank isn't easy to find either. Granted, I have no experience on game with a 41mag but the 44spl will do 1200fps with a 250gr and the 45colt will do 1100fps with a 300gr. I just don't think the 41 will come close to either in the 23k psi range.

I'm running a 250 Keith custom Lee mold at 1050 from a 5.5" with just 7.0 grains of Unique in a .41 Special... With H110 or 2400 1200 would be easy.

Just picked up a 1958 4 5/8" OM FT .357 with beautiful custom stocks that really fit my hand. The front sight is WAY too short being 6" high at 20 yards with the rear cranked all the way down. Definite candidate for a conversion if I decide to keep it.

There is no advantage of the .41 Special over the .44 Special except in something like a Ruger GP-100/L-frame conversion as one can get 6 beans in the wheel instead of 5...

Not a Vaquero, but I like my flattop .41!

I think you can get Ruger to make an "exclusive" if you pony up for 300 to 500 units.
Convince someone like Lipsey or Talo or heck ….. group fund it if you want.
Seems by the age of this thread ( a decade ) that Ruger doesn't see a profit in it.

If a new Vaquero run gets done, do it with 45 Colt/44special length cylinder. Heck, go 20 thousandths longer than the 45 cylinders!
