.22-250 flat bolt

IF you call a M77 a flat bolt, they seem to like heavy bullets. I think, the rate of twist as per the Lyman reloading manual, 1 in 12. My remington likes light bullets>53 gr BTHP. There are a boat load of bullet choices. Hope this helps. JMHO bhk

As contender said every rifle is different. I shoot the 53 gr Sierra BTHP. It's the accuracy load in the Sierra manual. I rebarreled a short action Remington 700. I have a 25 inch Douglas barrel which I chambered with a live cartridge for a custom length. The lands are .005 away from the bullet ogive. I can shoot 1 1/2 inch groups at 200 yards. It's a prarie dog killin machine. We have a Dillon 550 set up in our trailer, and we shoot all afternoon, and reload about 1500 rounds all night. Repeat. It's fun on the RoseBud reservation. Experiment with loads and have fun. BHK

I use a 55gr. Sierra HPBT . But all so use mine to squirrel hunt with, a reduced load. 40 gr . Sierra HP , 4.0 grs. of 700 X, cci 500 primer. About 1400FPS. I have a Remington 700 and it is a very good squirrel gun. When I can't find 22's , I can steal hunt with this.
