I developed a good load for my Max 9 using 124 grain round nose bullets and 3.6 grains of Win 231. It's a milder load that I think is appropriate for a micro pistol. I tried substituting 124 grain flat nose bullets and I had horrible problems on the range today. I had failures to eject and also double feeds happening at the same time. It's the first time I have seen these two malfunctions at once. Anybody else notice problems with flat nose bullets in the Max 9?

I cast my own truncated cone, flat nose 125 grn bullets for my USPSA shooting. I use them in my Super GP-100, my PC9, my Sig 320. I haven't tried them in my LC9 yet,, but I haven't had any issues.

Failure to eject,, usually is the result of some form of not enough pressure to allow the gun to operate completely. A double feed is often a magazine issue.

But if you had both happen at once,, it could be that the bolt didn't retract far enough to allow the ejector to work, yet,, maybe the bottom of the bolt caused a "tipping" of the ammo where a double feed might occur.

Or,, maybe there was some amount of debris (unburnt powder, powder residue etc,) that assisted in creating this problem. Hard to say.
