I just got my 10/22 and sighted it in with CCI standard . 22 ammo. No problems .

Because of near neighbors I purchased some CCI silent rounds. They jam and don't eject EVERY time. I must manually eject or clear a jam.

Is this a known issue or what is happening?

Thanks.

The silent round is most likey subsonic and does not produce enough psi to operate the slide fully. These type rounds are better suited for bolt and lever actions rifles and revolvers.

You might be able to install a reduced spring in your rifle to get them to run right, but then you would have issues with the regular 22 ammo.

Welcome to the forum.
I haven't found any 10/22 that cycles 'CCI QUIET' ammo unless modifications are made. If you choose to swap in a reduced power spring kit, be aware that you may not be able to fire 'full power' 22 ammo w/o changing back to the OEM spring.

Makes sense. Thank you.

The CCI quiet run at 710 fps, my 10/22 doesn't eject either but I don't mind cycling it by hand for tradeoff in quietness. Win some lose some but sometimes it's worth it.

Why not just get a bolt or lever gun if quiet is preferred?
Its as quiet as a bolt and just as easy to pull the olt back and cycle it in a 10/22. Not that I wouldn't mind having a nice bolt .22 I just haven't run across the one that really interested me yet. I do use them in my Henry lever and my Winchester model 62 A pump as well.
