Monday I ordered a Ron Power Ruger 10/22 hammer/sear kit (w/ springs pins and shims) from Hawktech Arms and I received it yesterday (very fast service). The parts went in without problems and gave me a superb 2 and a quarter pound pull. The price was just $49.95 shipped. This was the best $50 that I have ever spent on a gun. :D

does the 10/22 have a metal trigger group or a poly?

the reason I ask is I had a problem with an after market hammer on a poly group...

what you need to do is check and make sure the safety still works right....

do this with the gun empty of course.

with the safety on, cock the hammer by pulling the bold back and releasing it... pull on the trigger... nothing should happen... then flip the safety off... nothing should happen.

on the one I had a problem with when you flipped the safety off after pulling the trigger with the safety on.. the hammer would fall and the gun would go off.

Blume, my trigger guard is aluminun. My gun is about a '90 vintage. I did the test that you described 5 times and it passed every time. I'm going to the range tomorrow see how it shoots. Range report coming.

that's cool. I've never had a problem like this with the metal groups and own only one of the poly groups, for my Charger, and am not sure it would be a common problem or not.... the cause of it was that there seems to be more play between the safety button and the part just above it (sear I think) that goes up to the hammer.

Have fun at the range... there is a big difference between a factory trigger on the 10/22 and the upgrades.
