I am having some issues with my 10/22. I sent it back to Ruger and I really do not see much of a difference.

I have a very had time getting the factory magazine out of the gun, getting the bolt to release from the lock position. That is when I lock it back. And it does not stay locked back on the last shot.

Also, I bought some Black Creek 25 and 30 round magazine with the steel lips. I cannot shoot more than 4 rounds with out it jamming.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My two 10-22's don't stay open on the last shot. I don't think they are supposed to.
Often the magazine well cut into the stock is to tight and needs to have a little material removed to allow the mag to drop free.that could be the same issue with the bolt hold open lever. I have owned four or five over the years and still have two. All of them operate the same with regard to the bolt staying open on the last shot.
I use nothing but Ruger factory magazines, the rest are junk IMHO.

I just bought a 10/22 RSI. Magazines are a little sticky getting out. I'm going to use Prussian bluing and look for the tight place. I changed to an Auto Bolt release. Bought this one, but a small file, remove sharp point and you can do yourself. Look at Brownells replacements for a picture. Much nicer just pull bolt and let go! Do yourself a favor and stick to ruger mags. I only use Rugers mags in SR 1911, Mini 14, Mark II's, 10/22's. Security Sixes,,,,,just kidding. But I did read ad on Gunbroker for 77/50's advertised as a single shot. Darn,,I was looking for a pump action. Keep looking, I guess.

I agree with the other two, only use Ruger magazines and be sure to press the magazine release forward and use your fingers to remove.

The BOLT LOCK does not need to be replaced or modified. Read page 13 of the owner's manual to learn how to operate properly.

You can make a 10/22 jam by cleaning and lubing it with WD40. I was out of regular gun cleaner and gun oil once and tried it, never again. Also sometimes the plastic mags need a little trimming to make them fit right, but you would probably be able to tell that by looking closely at them. The 10/22's that I have did not come with the bolt hold open on the last shot feature, I don't think any of them do.

As others have pointed out, the 10-22 does not have a bolt hold open on last shot feature. You cam buy a kit to made the rifle do this but its something like $250 IIRC. Not worth it IMHO.

You don't state what kind of jams you are having. Is it when feeding or is it stove piping?

I have only found one 10-22 of the hundreds I have worked on that had a properly fit firing pin (misfires) and extractor (stovepipes). Unfortunately they were not the same rifle. I do fix these problems if interested.

Precision32, I did nit have any problems feeding from the stock 10 round magazine. The problem came with the Black Creek magazines.
I have done some research on the problem getting the stock magazine out and it looks like the answer is to put an extended mag release on the gun. Mine has a little tab on it. I also am having a hard time releasing the bolt when locked open. Might order the mag release that does not have the tab looking metal stubs or file the stock one down.

Any recommendations on what extended mag release to order. BTW when ordering it, I will be ordering 2 30 round Ruger magazines.

Put in Auto Bolt release. Simple, one finger pull and release. You can buy from Brownells, or,,, file and remove the sharp point in the slot on bolt stop. I know,,,,,,Page 13 on manual shows PROPER way to operate. But, this is a easy modification, does not harm rifle. Stick with Ruger mags

I run only factory mags and don't have feeding issues. I use sand paper to sand the inside of the mag well so that I can slip a business card between the stock and the magazine. My mags just drop out when the release is pushed.

I use a Christie and Christie extended mag release. When I build a rifle I always include one with the build.

You can buy and auto bolt release on Amazon for under $20. Very easy to install. Allows the bolt to lock back on the last round and just pull and release the bolt handle to release it when you replace the magazine with a fresh one. Or look at the picture on Amazon, remove your bolt lock and remove the material to make it look like the picture, works the same way without buying one.
