New Model Blackhawk Hammer Plunger

Years ago (late 1970's) I made up some hammer plungers for the NM single actions that were a bit longer then OEM. The purpose was to delay the latch drop, or release so it fell into the approach instead of out on the cylinder. The stock parts allowed the latch to come up early quite a ways before the approach. Ruger may have addressed this, I dont know. Haven't handled many New Models lately.
If anyone is interested, I'll dig them out and provide a drawing here.

Grumpy is on it! Only difference in my part is I used 0-1 or W-1 3/32" drill rod (maybe even S7 cant remember), copied the Ruger notch, and made them .0945 long to allow for fitting.

I buy cheap TiN coated drill bits from Amazon - no idea what steel they're made from, but they work a treat! Seems like Iowegan, from THE OTHER forum recommended that. I tried O-1 one time, but decided it's too much effort.

Does the longer notch help?

I dunno how much difference it makes. It looks like it's necessary due to the additional length of the plunger, though.
