Aftermarket 10-22 receiver

Any thoughts or recommendations on which is better for a Charger type 'build'(irks me to use that word)? Brownells/Faxon/Ruger OEM takeoff from one of the custom shops?
Easier to just pay up front for a Charger and ad the mods later?

Personally, I would just buy a Charger, shoot it a bit, see how it does accuracy, trigger, etc. wise and then think about any additions/subtractions/modifications to be done to make it "yours".

The fun is in snapping one together .....I recently used a Brownell's BRN-22 and it was good to go. I also used a take off of a OEM from a shop in TX (SP Outfitters?) which was much cheaper...but boring.

'STUFF' has begun accumulating for a 'from scratch build'. Trigger unit, bolt assembly, small parts, 3-D printed stock--the late night ebay 'why not' type of stuff. Just wish someone would develop an 80% 10-22 receiver and jig.
