+1 there were flakes of brass left in the Regular (non FC) Lee crimp die. It simply grinds off the brass rather than crimp. an allen wrenched wraped in paper towel wrapped with 250-grit sand paper made the die useable. edfardos

in a 357 cartridge, they'll leave laminated layers of copper foil in your forcing cone. They might work in 38spcl however. I switched back to cast lead in my wheel guns. Berry's work great in 40s&w.

if that's plated, check your forcing cone for sheets of copper tinfoil. Even at 1200fps, its not obvious but it shows up. I switched back to hard cast lead. That's also what I'd call a med/heavy crimp. I just crimp to match the contour of the cannelure, that's about it.. Extract a few slugs...
