How are you doing? You recently said something about being hooked up to a pump which kept you from doing much. How's that going? I'm pretty curious about all this. Please let us know.

Well, thank you for asking. I am currently taking chemo every other week. I go to the clinic on Monday and sit for about three hours taking that medication, this through a "port" inserted in my upper left chest. Then I am hooked up to a pump, which is slightly larger that a smart phone. I wear this slung over my shoulder, and, yes it sort of looks like a "murse". There is along plastic tube connected to the port in my chest. The tube is maybe 6' or so in length. At night I sleep in my recliner so as not to foul the tube by turning over. The pump sets on a table next to my recliner couch. I wear this from Monday until Wednesday around noon. Some days I feel pretty good, other times not too spunky. I can't drink ice tea noe any cold drink as the medication sensitizes nerve endings and feels like sparks on my lips and tongue. Worst thing is that I seem to be completely drained on Sunday morning and it takes nearly all my effort to get to Sunday School and Church. I attribute that to Satan trying to hamper me.

Still in prayer for you Bob. We have had a few friends go through something like that. It can be rough. I'm sure your church family is meeting a lot of your needs now; the community of faith is good to have around. Does the chemo lower your immune system were going out could be an issue? Just curious. It's not the same but our church has an online service for shut ins.

Thanks, Bob, for the update. There are a lot of folks that think of you and pray for you often. How long do you have to have the 'port' and pump and chemo? It is coming up on spring and I am sure you would like to spend some time outdoors. Hopefully you will have that opportunity soon.

The duration of this goes int August. But every other week I have the whole week free of that hindrance. And the doctor has not indicated any precaution about weakened immune system.
When I went i for my first "infusion" an nurse introduced herself as my "navigator." I tol her I'm 87 years old and never in my life needed a navigator. I always knew where I was going and how to get there." She still laughs about that.

BOB: My prayers are still headed Your direction for as long as You need them. It was great to hear from You. I miss all Your Old Stories. You know, when I was young I always knew where a bunch of Old Men would be gathered. To tell there Old Stories and I could sit and listen. On Park Benches in the park or on the town square and the like Places. But not so much any more. I miss that part of life. I miss it more than I can even began to tell You. Not a lot of Old Story Tellers Left. And I enjoyed them so much when I was Young. Well keep Your Head up and Your Shoulders Back.

I feel your pain. Three years ago I underwent chemo for cancer. Unfortunately, 6 mo. after the chemo finished, the cancer was back. The good news is that the return of the cancer so soon made me eligible for a gene manipulation therapy. So far, that seems to be working.

Here am I. I'm having sort of a rough time with this chemo stuff. I feel sort ot like a deflated balloon at times. No real pain or anything, but sometimes dizzy spells and sick feeling. But yesterday me doctor called me an "extraordinary man." But, all in all, God has been good to me. I am blessed.

Thank you so much for this information. Bob, it would be beyond my ability to let you know how much you mean to this community of gun owners. It has been said that you are kind of the chaplain for this forum. Many of us pray for you daily and really appreciate your comments on many subjects.
