This would never happen in today's world, but in 7th grade I saw Bob Munden do a fast draw exhibition on the stage of our high school auditorium. I was amazed and probably why I bought a Ruger SA once I was legally able to.
He had that same exact shot clock on the stage.
He had a TV show that I watched religiously. He was one in a million

I called his business one day to ask some questions about a Colt SAA I had just traded for. Not really wanting any work done on it, just some generic questions. He answered the phone. I explained to him that I wasn't looking for work to be done on it, just some questions. 40 minutes later the call was ended after receiving some great tips. He was a great guy to talk to and willing to answer all my questions.
A while back the the "outdoor " channel did a segment called "Wednesday night at the range " it was mostly sponsored by " Midwayusa ". They did some shows featuring Bob ,..............the man was impressive . .
I saw Bob do an exhibition in Shreveport, LA many years ago. I have a picture with him hanging at my reloading bench. He was unbelievable. His single actions had the smoothest actions I have ever felt. I saw Jerry shoot at Clark's a couple of times. He is fast as lightning with a double action.
I remember a segment where he ricocheted a bullet across a pond to a target on the other bank and hit the target . Now it took several attempts but HE DID IT. !
BM was the reason I got into fast draw as a kid. I never got close to his speed but I did get pretty danged fast. I still practice but now with a smith 627 and can still get one round one a man sized target at, at 7 yards, in under half a second. I have done a couple shows for 4H and what used to be The Boy Scouts
the problem with those old videos is the people are faster than the shutter speed of the camera.
In Bruce Lee's screen test trying out for Kato on the Green Hornet he is supposed to pretend to kick a stand in guy in the head and he pretends to... all you see is the stand in flinch.
I took a video of a large tanerite explosion and all you see is a lot of smoke.... there is just one frame that shows a ball of flame about 60ft across, no body at the event even saw that.
I met Bob a few times,, saw one of his exhibitions, and spent a bit of time talking to him. He was the real deal, and a nice gentleman.
Jerry Miculek,, another amazing guy whom I've been his RO several times, and have enjoyed associating with for years,, is also super nice. A no-nonsense guy too!
