“Bob Weir, a founding member of the Grateful Dead, passed away at the age of 78 on January 10, 2026, after battling cancer and lung issues. His death marks the loss of another key figure from the iconic band that shaped American music.”
I’m 3 days older then him.

That's sad :( Bob sang The Dead classic Truckin'. They said live he forgot the lyrics every time :)

This hangs on my living room wall. Rest in Peace, Bob...

RIP. The Dead were so creative and so influential. My favorite song was 'Me and My Uncle'. When I first heard the song I was in college, and had no idea it was them. I thought some country singer had finally gotten it right. :)

One of those rare bands that were almost impossible to categorize or pigeonhole. There was rock, Jazz, Country and everything under the sun mixed in there. All you could say was that it was "the Dead."

many of you don't know, he was an orphan child, adopted as a baby, never knew his real parents until later in life. loved music, became a musician and did well for himself. one could say a wild ride along the way. gone now, forever "Greatfully Dead". thanks for the Music, that will never die.

Yesterday I went to pick up my grandkids in Chattanooga, TN and just before I crossed into TN on I-75 I saw a full LED billboard in blue that had a pic of Bob Weir on it with his name. I thought that was a fitting tribute all the way over here in north GA/TN.

Today I left early to pick them up so I could get a couple of pics of it and it was back to Welcome to Chattanooga, and then flashed to two lawyers.

I sure wish I'd have known before yesterday so I could have gotten some pics :(

sounds like what a long, strange trip its been!

My favorite song is Wharf Rat. Saw the Dead live a few times and had a grand old time. I remember the day Jerry Garcia died too, alot of bummed people. They're putting the band back together behind the pearly gates!
