I tried to post the same photos, I have here on the rifle "RESURRECTION", on the RCA site and it was "denied" because "The message contains links to illegal or pirated software." whatever the hell that means. There are no "links" and I "pirated" nothing. Perhaps joining that group was a mistake. Not one of the 'good ole boys' I guess. Here is what I received:

Oops, I didnt catch that ….. guess I was looking for a link to something here

Im not finding a thread in the Rifle Section called Resurrection or a pic posted by Fox Mike on this forum.

For the record @Fox Mike I have not been impressed with the RCA forum either. Can't upload images easily, and the boards are capped at how many attachments you can have.

They have a 'bot' that just checks this stuff and it misinterpreted what you were trying to attach.... way beyond my pay scale as to how a software program can do that. Kind of like foul language here will get re-worded.

Is this thread about:

A) another website’s picture hosting?

B) spelling?

C) The intelligence of other people?

**Which for what it’s worth, I’ve met Fox Mike and wouldn’t question his smarts.

The entire point I was trying to make is that the RCA site would not post the same identical photos I have posted on this Forum saying there were "links to illegal or pirated software". There were NO LINKS in any photos and I certainly didn't PIRATE anything (I wouldn't know how if I knew what it was). They came directly from my 'images' on Imgur.

Got it. The RCA site probably has problems with the Imgur website. That would be my guess. There is a lot of questionable content on Imgur.

If so then they should so state that Imgur postings are not allowed or something of that nature. I sent no 'links' nor did I 'pirate' anything. No one was capable it seems, to answer my inquiry as to the "why" of their denial. This seems to be a repeat of years ago. Ask a question and get no reply.

Every post with a link I have attempted in the past 2 weeks has caused the "denied" notice to pop up. I just figured, "Ho, hum, another glitch in the program..."

Oh, I recognized the logo, but I have seen, through the years, things that people posted that they truly thought were real and correct that others could see immediately what was incorrect but the poster couldn't. That's why I said what I said. BTW, Here's the old logo (and I also remember it, I'm an old guy)

Ever since RugerForum did the software upgrade to where we can simply drag and drop pictures directly into our posts, I have not used Imgur for hosting.

But I do recall the images are referenced by links to the picture file on the imgur site. So that may be the link issue, possibly entering it in a format the RCA forum doesn't know how to decode as a picture, so it interprets it as an untrusted external link.

I remember Imgur having multiple options for referencing your pics there. I forget what they called the format that worked with the old RF software (maybe online forum or bulletin board), but it was the one that enclosed the link (URL) within IMG and /IMG tags within [ ] brackets.

...... Edit to say that if I use the brackets here, as I did originally in my above post around the start/end image tags, this software tries to interpret it as a picture and just displays a red X since there was no URL between them.....

So:
[ IMG ] <your picture URL here > [ /IMG ]
But without the spaces
