We’ve had a winter storm going on. They say the storm is supposed to go on until 9am tomorrow with winds from 35 to 55 miles per hour, with gusts up to 75mph. Our house faces north with the back facing south. Earlier we couldn’t open the storm door in the the front or back. My son came over and shoveled enough that we can get the storm door open in front. Once it blows in it’s like cement, it’s packed so hard. I just had to push the snow out of the front again.
In the back, the snow is packed 2feet high on the storm door. That’s where my shovel is. Just trying to get to the back deck would be a real endurance project. In front of the deck, the snow is about 4’ deep. Loving winter?????

If it’s any consolation Marlin I’m not sure Idaho is in much better shape right now!

Be patient and the worst will pass soon.

Good luck and Merry Christmas.

When I lived in Anchorage we lived off Muldoon. Sometimes the wind came through a pass and it was literally crazy. I’ve seen gusts of 100mph. I remember going out on the deck to tie the bar b que to the hand rail so it didn’t fly down the stairs. Lost part of the roof twice. One year after a storm like that every electric pole from 20th toward Tudor was snapped. I see the poles have been replaced with steel.

On of the neighbors worked for FAA and put a wind measure on his roof. The wind blew it off.
