what would this be used for????

Some (relatively) young guy around here has an air horn on his jacked-up 4X4, and likes to annoy people with it. Karma, is all I can say.

I don't see it happening around here but it might be handy getting some 'savetheplanet; people out of the road when they are trying to stop traffic...problem I see is they will already have them...at least I carry ear protection...

It would be worth buying just for texting drivers. Yesterday while it was snowing hard enough to limit visibility and make the road slippery I was treated to some stupid idiot texting. The vehicle was in the center lane and weaving into both the left and right lanes. People amaze me and not in a good way...

I see in the description that it says, "hand made". So, someone is converting name brands to that horn. Not a catalogued item.

I did not click the link but I gather it is a train horn for your car I guess. Blowing that thing in traffic is a sure way to cause an accident or a heart attack for about half the drivers around here. Is that thing legal??

We live out, far from the Sheriff. There is a paved 2 lane, 5 houses can all see each other from the windows. No street lights. If anybody has a problem, we blast one of those canned horns, flash the porch light and DUCK before we call 911.
One of these things might be loud enough to wake our neighbors better than canned blast noise.

I've kept a small canned horn, which is quite loud, on my bicycle handlebars for several years. When I ride the bike I use a bike path so that I can avoid riding in the streets, and often come up behind walkers or runners who are totally oblivious to what is around them. Their earbuds or headphones are often loud enough for me to hear what they are listening to. So when I call out from behind them "On your left" or "Passing you" or whatever, there is no response at all. Several years ago I was knocked to the ground by one of these jerks deciding to move left without looking behind him just as I was passing. Both of us ended up on the ground with minor injuries. Since then I carry this horn and have had to use occasionally and trust me, it gets the attention even of the jerks with their music blasting in their ears. One woman accused me to trying to give her a heart attack, to whom I responded that if she walked all the way on the right of the lane I would not have used the airhorn, but since she chose to walk right down the middle I had no choice. She told me to drop dead, and I responded politely with the one finger salute as I continued on my way. That horn is also great at sports events.

Many motorcyclists are mounting those types of horns (train horns) to their bikes when stupid drivers don't see them.
