Rather far ahead of the b/c gap, main risk is chainfire. His sleeve, however...Wouldn't he scorch his left sleeve/wrist/hand if he actually fired that thing that way?

For a fictional movie gun, it would have to be the Aliens M41 pulse rifle.
For actual guns used in movies . . . well, I have a Beretta 92, which has been used in countless movies, and my several Ruger Blackhawks scratch the single-action itch I got from decades of Westerns.
Still need a Mare's Leg, though.
And watching John Woo's "Hard Boiled" again last night on Tubi reminded me that I really, really need to get a four-inch Ruger GP100 at some point.

I saw this on an old western re-run on cable. Can't remember for sure, but I think it may have been Bat Masterson? Anyway, the hero had a hat that, when removed, released a spring loaded derringer that popped up and fired. Kind of Bond before Bond. It was an old black and white. My uncle said that they made a toy version when that show was on TV after it was a movie.

Wait.... The title said favorite "weapon" and did not specify firearm. That being the case, my favorite weapon is the Hanbo ( half-bo, a three foot long heavy stick) used in so many Kung Fu movies of the past. Not just because of how they are used in the movies, but because I have also trained ( to fight, not look pretty) with them as well as canes.

They are OK but nothing like in the movies. James Bond could put a 32 ACP between the eyes at 50yds!!! That would be a lucky shot at 50"!!!
You do realize that fixed iron sights were designed to be dead on at 50 meters/yards back in those days with the most common round or military round. So any shot other than that would require Kentucky Windage. Not to mention that the PPK was designed specifically for the round we know as the .32 ACP here in America?

The bleeding heart left hollyweirds would not allow it unless there was a disclaimer before the scene stating "The following scene contains a toy weapon that represents great bodily harm that nobody should be allowed to own. Thankfully nobody was harmed during the filming. Please use viewer discretion and vote blue"....and of course it would have that ridiculous orange piece on the muzzle.

M14/m1a, cheyteck m200(can't afford it but would like to light the candle). Shiloh sharps. Was able to stop in Big timber many times driving truck and chalk couple blocks to the Shiloh is at. Browsed thru the show room floor. Absolutely beautiful rifles.
Curious which movie? I was going to pick it but there's so many movies that I couldn't decide.

One of my M1A ‘s has a surplus stock. I call it Charlene. I don’t ever name guns. That one sort of named itself.
John wayne also had an m70 in 458, for hitari. That was the first Big Gun on this boy's wishlist, with stewart granger 's 577 westley richards 577. and a newer one is a ruger reworked by butch searcy into a 470 nitro. also, a later 600 jurraissic, that was all butch, not off a ruger. Cadillacs and dinosauers 460 weatherby would be great. Was it j.d.jones did the .577 tyrannosauer? In an m17 enfield. In the first doc savage, the badguy had a new 600 nitro double for sniper duty, but dident know about the special diffraction built into the nominally (i.e. otherwise) bulletproof window.
