what Bison's do for fun . . . . .

I love tourist tossing season. A Bison will look at you like you owe him money..and he's coming to collect.

I originally thought, "Another touron got too close, trying to take a selfie." But that wasn't the case this time - a bull bison in rut was attacking everything in sight, decided it didn't like a grandpa walking with his grandson 100 yards away (inside a park campground), and charged over & tossed the old guy 8 feet in the air. Grandpa didn't get gored, but I sure hope he doesn't die from a broken hip...

I used to be a big fan of 200 - 300 mm telephoto camera lens just for this reason..... the average bison can run 40mph+/-, and tip over a 5K pound truck..... I weigh 220, and when I could run might do a 20-mph sprint, until I fell over my over feet, or discover I'm carrying an extra 5#'s of crap in my pants sloshing around..... his field his rules, I'll stay wayyyyyyyyyy back here 😉

I wonder if he landed heads or tails?

One has to be plain stupid to get so close to a critter like that where that could happen. I feel the same way for idiots that swim or surf in the ocean. They're just asking to get a leg or arm ripped off. One surfer I saw on a TV show lost an arm to a shark and guess what she did when she healed up? Of course, right back in the water surfing. Stupid Stupid Stupid.

Plus, he knew NOTHING about animals. The behavior of that Buffalo bull just prior to deciding to go kill some trees was clearly full of unrequited aggression. A domestic bull in that frame of mind would be almost as dangerous. Get a clue!

As a kid in Chicago, we used to sneak into the Brookfield Zoo through the Bison herd when the park train went bye. Money isn't the root of all evil, the lack of money is the root of all evil. ( Reverend Ike) 😲😁😄😂🤣

Anyone notice that the Grandson was wearing a Miami Dolphins jersey?

It's the rut. "Them Bulls" don't like anything (except p***y).
I thought it looked like rut behavior, but so early in the year, I looked it up and you're right:

Polyamory On The Prairie: The Bison Rut In Yellowstone ...

The bison rut, or mating season, runs from late June to September, with peak activity in July and August. During this time, male bison experience a surge in testosterone, making them highly aggressive, vocal, and unpredictable as they compete for females. [1, 2, 3]

That guy above looks like he's in a bad mood because of his bad haircut. Kind of looks like Moe Howard.

My wife was trying to get me killed a few years back... I was sneaking up behind one and got about 50 yards away when she started yelling that I was too close....

You know in thinking about it and how cities like to have themed festivals, some town out there should have a "Running of the Buffalo" festival.... that would be fun to watch...

I didn't do the run of the bulls in Pamplona. It was too popular and I didn't have the rank to get leave. But quite a few smaller cities do something similar.

I did go the San Sebastián de Los Reyes twice. One heck of a party. The first year I ran. My bride put her foot down the second. Still, I told her I had years of experience running from PO'd Holsteins and Jerseys. With the odd occasional Guernsey thrown in.
