My wife has a friend in Dallas that has been sending her peaches from something called the Peach Truck. So far we have received 36 peaches. We are kind of at a loss for what to do. We do not can peaches. We gave some to my BIL, we have peaches and ice cream, plus peaches and Splenda. We also have plans for peach cobbler soon.

What can we do with fresh peaches? Ideas?

My mother was given a recipe for peach cobbler that is cheap and fast, involving peaches and half a box of cake mix. She keeps saying that all she has to do is dump the can, or can sized serving of peaches after mixing with sweetener, into a small pan, then dump the cake mix on top, and then cook. I can ask the details if you want.

Freeze the fresh peach slices in freezer bag .
Frozen peaches are almost as good as fresh .
It is easy to do ... do a search on "Freezing Peach's" and pick a recipe ... Easy-Peasy !
We like to use the sugar-water method and freeze in freezer bags so they lie flat .
They can be used for cooking just like fresh !

Peach Brandy, or add them to some jars of white lighting. There is also peach preserves. Or peaches & sour cream.

Slice and dehydrate them. They'll last a long time in vacuum sealed bags or jars.
When you want to use some, soak them in water for a 1-2 hours to rehydrate, and they're darn near as good as fresh.

Worth doing if its that easy!

OK:

Take an 8"x8" cake pan.
Put 2 cups of sliced peaches in the pan.
Throw half a cup of sugar over the top of the peaches, evenly.
Throw half a box of dry yellow cake mix over the peaches.
Melt a stick of butter and and spread over the cake mix.
Bake in oven at 350 degrees for a half hour.

Works with one can of sliced, sweetened peaches instead of two cups fresh and 1/2 cup of sugar.

Works with cherries and blueberries, too.

I have about a 1/3 acre of peaches. All organic and ugly. Waiting for them all to die, they are too much trouble.

Good lord man, rinse them off in the sink and start eating. At some point they’ll make a clean pass and you’ll know to slow up a bit. 5/day will get you there soon enough.

If you’re needing Splenda you need to allow them to ripen in a brown bag on the counter. When they come around it’ll go fast. Check twice a day the smell should alert you, and each one will have to be evaluated at first.

Danged but I love peaches.

Put them in a 50 gal plastic drum . let them ferment . Add suger too. etc
My uncle used to do that with the less than perfect apples from his small orchard. I’d help him flip it now and then. That hard cider tasted great and would sneak up on you if you weren’t careful. I believe he added a little yeast initially to get the process going.
