What Are These Things?

I have an idea what they are, I think they remind me of those candle holders that you see in the Catholic Church when you walk in the door, but I don't remember the reason for different colors. I found two boxes of these, never used, in my guest cottage next door because due to Irene dropping a tree on the corner of the porch it has to come off because its pretty shaky. Am I right on these things? The box says Decorama out of Texas.

I'd believe they are voltive (spelling) candle holders.

Yep! Every seventies-vintage household was full of them! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

These votive cups have a little rubber plug in the bottom so they fit in a standard candle holder. Then, the cute little votive candles are burned in the votive cup. Very little mess, very little light, and if you buy the scented ones, a little aroma.

Also popular in 60's and 70's Army barracks', as they were believed to somewhat diminish the wafting smell of mary jane, as it drifted thru the barracks corridors.

Different colors simply mean variety for some folks, but each color can also designate a certain holy day or saint.
