USPS for the win!

I have found USPS package delivery to be fairly quick, letters on the other hand....

Other than the occasional floating package that seems to rotate from hub to hub, USPS works for me.

I too generally have excellent deliver service from them. Only rarely do I get an odd delivery or delayed delivery.

One thing I see often,, is poor writing on letters or packages. Clear, larger print,, especially the zip code seems to be a good thing in insuring good delivery service.

few weeks ago, a small padded envelope with two small grip "halves" flat, from Ohio to the coast was $13.85 and a small box of the same just a few a days before that ,,was $18.00 plus.........duh:(

About the cost of lunch at McDs. Three day service from FedEx would be $50.

Cost to you, as the shipper?

If you are buying postage through USPS, either through their website or physically in the post office, you are doing it wrong.

There are several "private" online shippers out there in the webisphere that cost half of retail for the same service. Free pick-up as well.

Wow! Sorry to say, my experience with USPS has been awful. Just this week I had a package that was in Louisville over a week ago. That is in the next county over from me. Took them over a week to get it from Louisville to my house. Everyday the website said it was "in transit". I honestly thought they had lost it, but it finally made it here.

Now try it the other way. Every time I get something from CA to AZ, it seems to take 5 days to go 7 hours away. I think every postal employee in CA has to touch it before it gets here. Coming from the east coast, no problem.

I sent a package priority mail on november 21st and it has yet to make it to its destination, Not the first time, I hate the USPS.

Maybe if you guys didn't write "USPS Sucks" and "Go FedEx!" on your packages, things would go more smoothly.

I buy my postage online, print the label with barcodes, and tape the label to the box. Leave it in my mailbox and that's it.

As y'all here probably know, by my prior posts here, I'm one of USPS's biggest critics. Although they do, occasionally, get one right, as with the OP here. Yaworski should consider going out and buying a lotto ticket before the luck wear off.

I ship a couple hundred packages, give or take, every year. I use either UPS or USPS, depending on the size of the package.

In nearly 30 years of business I have never had a customer complain about the shipping method 🤷‍♂️

The only times I have had to file a damage complaint (twice) was with UPS

Go figger...

My experience has been 180 degrees the other way. Recently took 16 days for a package to go from E TN to Missouri, Sent a priority to Texas 13 days ago, no movement in over a week. Got a package on the way to me from Missouri, shipped 8 days ,ago, no movement.
On the flip side I sent a priority to AZ last Monday, they got it Wednesday. Sent a letter by regular post last Monday, they got it Thursday. Seems to be hit or miss, but had more misses than hits, had to open 4 investigations in the past 4 months.
Years ago someone was complaining about the mail service, the response, "If someone gave you .35 cents and told you to take an envelope from NY to CA, what would be your response?" "Just a little patience."

Well it took them 19 days to deliver a letter from a town 1.5hrs away and the other day they crammed a box in my mailbox so tight I thought I was going to have to cut the top of the mailbox off or chop up the package to get it out. They simply are the worst delivery service of all time immemorial!!

On which planet are these "webisphere" shippers located. Postnet doesn't accept firearms or ammunition neither does The UPS Store. To ship UPS, the window is open 9 or 10 until 11:30 or 2PM-4PM. To ship FedX a trip is required 50 miles round trip consuming 1 hour @$40 an hour to a Wal-Mart "Superstore" so a free postage paid label from Ruger firearms is not economical. I can go to the local USPS 15 minutes round trip pay ~$30 and ship to manufacturer/FFL. Been doing this regularly for 20 years. I always insure package and a POD, USPS evidently handles these insured differently.

My son lives on the other side of the country, California. Thursday afternoon, about 3 PM, my letter carrier picked up a package for him. It was delivered today about 3 Pm.

Two days from Pittsburgh to California.
Well as they say… “ Even a blind hog will find an acorn once in a while “
Sounds like someone screwed up and did their job right for a change, more like an exception than the norm.

My wife ordered a sweater on Thanksgiving. Been sitting in a warehouse 30 minutes away for weeks. Yesterday, FEDEX said it was out for delivery. Message this morning said 'can't deliver due to weather'. BUL$h!t!. Weather is awesome and roads are clear. Driveway is clear. Last 3 deliveries from amazon, the driver wouldn't get out of the car and just threw it towards our steps. Garage is open, steps are clear; just Lazy A$$ drivers.

Yep USPS bought a extractor from local gun shop in CDA ID. I live in rathdrum. Figured take a day at most. I was busy no time to drive and get it. It went all the way to the east coast I got it 8 days later. Called GS to see what deal was. They couldn't tell me other than its the mail route. SPOKANE is main hub.

I'm thinking that y'all are doing SOMETHING wrong. I haven't had a problem like y'all are talking about in decades, long before online tracking was a thing.

I use Unishippers for UPS shipments, mostly. Smaller packages I will often use Shipping Center via PayPal. I also use Shipping Center for USPS shipments. Another is PirateShip, but they are a little higher.

I ALWAYS request carrier pickup. I do not know why people still go to the PO or UPS store anymore. UPS charges me $4.25 to come to my place and pick up my packages. The driver NEVER asks what is in the packages. USPS carrier pickup is FREE

When I used FedEx it cost $3.25 for carrier pickup, but it's been a while and they may have gone up. Regardless, time is money and I would rather pay a little to have UPS come to me that waste my time standing in line.
