This 3 screw on Gunsamerica sold this morning.
http://www.gunsamerica.com/963454171/Ruger_22_22Mag_Ruger_Single_six_Short_barrel.htm

It's #60-84828 made in '72 has a 4 5/8" barrel but with a new model ramp front sight. But has the pre '71 medallions in the grips. It also has the small "R" in a circle trademark by the bird on the frame which I haven't seen on any of my Super SS new or old models. An OM 'clean up' gun?

More likely had a barrel change but only a letter from Ruger will tell the story.

Any thoughts?

SOMETHING going on there :) just not sure if it's good or bad :? :? never seen a R at that location  All the SC4's in the 500 thousand range.....Right :?:

That would be an SC4.....man if that was right it was a steal.....RR.

Yeah, it was stolen alright, from me. I hit the 'Buy it Now' button 1st in the middle of the night. There were backup buyers as well. So next day, Lengendary Guns, the seller in Arizona, notified me and the backup buyers by e-mail at the same time! One of them called the seller back before I got off work and they sold it to him. I guess they don't understand what "back UP Buyer" means.

I'm waiting for a response from Gunsamerica customer service now.

Could be a real special transition model if is the "real Deal" on barrel length with new model front sight and that mysterious R......

Of course a letter won't confirm the NM ramp front sight but if it was shipped with the old model Patridge front sight normally supplied from the factory, there might be some marks on the barrel behind the sight since the old sight is .120" longer. The screw hole for the front sight in the barrel is in the same position for both old and new sights; a simple swap is possible.

The circle "R" Registered trademark symbol came with a new Single-Six rollstamp between 60-32720 and 60-36123 on the Super Single-Sixes and at about 20-54xxx for the fixed sight guns. So all higher serial numbers have the circle R.

Oh and beware of Gunsamerica's 'Buy It Now' on their classified ads, it's worthless. If a back up buyer calls the seller and claims the gun before the Buy It Now individual and if the seller sells that person your gun, GA will not enforce the rules with the seller. This happened to me with Legendary Guns.

That is shady, all around.

And that is an understatement.
