From Top Left:

Lightweight Single Six 4th variation, steel cyl.. Grip frame replaced since photo with a correct one w/o lanyard ring.

Tri Color Lightweight Single Six, Martin Hard Coat alloy cyl, Variation 1.B., flat gate, round ejector button (1 of about 1500).

1968 OM Single Six project cut to 3 1/2” with short stainless steel grip frame from a NM .32 H&R Mag Vaquerito


From Top Right:

Two Single Sixes, 4 5/8” barrels pre 1962 with XR3 grip frames, one with factory Sambar Stag grips.

1st year NM Super Single Six with Bisley hammer and trigger, Pre barrel Instr. Manual warning rollmark.

Any old gun deserves a decent set of grips. this is what this LW came with.

This is the choices. The originals are upper right.

Yes they are. I just looked close at the grips and decided LW needed a little something different.

I pulled the hammer/trigger out this morning, the hammer was a bit too tight. couldn't find anything, reassembled it, and didn't tighten the hammer retainer screw. Worked fine! I tightened it down in increments until it felt snug and stopped. Apparently, the alloy frame has some give to it? When I put it back together yesterday, I tightened it down as I would a steel frame, snug and an extra umph. Too much.

Definite possibility that the hammer screw was too tight.

That LW is looking good. It's fun to work on the old model Single-Sixes. I dug down in the grip box and found these. Since your a "Wildcat" at hunting these OM'd down - these would look good on that LW.

Kinda reminds me of what a girl told me many years ago, but I won't repeat it!

I enjoy the hunt, the work and the end result. Keeps me busy and out of trouble..........

Are those faux "tooth"?

Well I confirmed my Colt Scout .22s have the alloy loading gates. And my Colt Peacemaker .22 G series has a steel color case hardened cylinder frame and gate.

Those are some seriously nice grips, the detail on the cat's face is magnificent!
