So a couple weeks ago I saw my usual haunt had a 10/22 listed for sale - 95% @ $175. Figured the action and trigger were all I needed so I called, had em put it on lay-a-way for me. Last week, they listed another at 85% w/ scope for $165 and since another is always a good thing (have a few more builds planned) I had 'em hold this one for me too.
Went down last night and while they were getting the lay away one I looked at the held one. Well they get it and hand me a old walnut stocked international model. The action has little finish on top left but the walnut RSI stock is in darn good shape. :) The cheapy scope... I'll take it! :)
Now the other shows up. It's a newer wrinkle finish/polymer group one. Looked in the action and it's as close to unfired as could be and still be "used'. Both came home. :D

Let me guess, you're the guy who bought the RSI from Kittery? I've been calling every day at 9 am when they open to see if it was off hold yet and found out today it was sold. Glad you got it if this was you indeed.

Yeah, that was me. ;) Sorry. Didn't even realize it was a RSI, let alone one of the older walnut ones. It's a 6 digit #. Wish I still had my mint 5 digit from yrs back.
I ck their site 2x daily and if I see something I call for a 7 day hold.

Is it bad when the cashiers and clerks recognize you there?

No problem at all, they just started putting the holds in a spot where they can be seen and that one kept teasing me. 2 employees had that on hold before you and it sat there for almost a month, I kept missing it. Thye have a NIB "used" 10/22 for $160 on hold for me right now, one of the polymer ones. Keep debating wether or not to buy it, can't decide. I really want an all metal one but they don't show up as often.

I saw that one there, thought it as the one I had on hold and then saw the name and thought WTH? Saw the RSI, recognized it as an old one and was gonna ask to see it even though it was on hold. He handed me the RSI and I ask "is that the right one". $160 is a good price. I've yet to hear or see any real world negative aspects to the plastic trigger housings. Not big on the wrinkle finish but that's able to be taken care of. Had planned to use the action/trigger for a build but might leave it as-is on this nice little RSI.

I'm still gonna try to talk you into doing a "tacticool". You can only hold off so long.

Building them for my son now (excuse to wife) so ya gotta talk him into it.
