My SBH Bisley Hunter frequently has an issue with the trigger not resetting fully unless the hammer is pulled back a little.

Is this common?

A simple fix?

Need more info to diagnose?

I don't think this was happening before I did the poor man's trigger job (lifted one leg) and I haven't returned it back to normal to see if it goes away. Could the lessened spring tension be causing this?

The leg of the trigger return spring is probably interfering with the main spring and may need to be clipped off. I always clip one leg to make sure it does not drag on the main spring. Hook it back up an see if that fixes it. then you will know.

Could have transfer bar pinch and you may need to file a bit off the second step of the hammer face to relieve it. I have light trigger return springs in mine and find that I have had to relieve several. It isn't really and issue until you try to open the loading gate after the last shot and can't figure out why it won't open. :) Thats how I found mine had the problem.

Put the leg back and the problem disappeared. Gave both legs a slight kick and that was just as light with no reset issue. The trigger was never bad on this one, just thought that it needed a little help.

I think that it is ikely that the 'trigger man' opens my groups more so than the trigger :)
