How much "trigger movement" is required to "trip the sear"? (You don't need to set up a fancy "test jig" to measure down to a "thou", but a "ball park figure" would get us started.)
I've seen examples that require 0.015" to 0.090" of trigger movement to get the "sear to trip!" I've seen a few that need MORE than that!
I hesitate to post a 17 part treatise on the basics and then the nuances of trigger alignment, spring tensions, internal dimensions, backlash adjustments, over travel devices, etc., etc., etc. without knowing the readers background knowledge, selection of measuring tools etc., etc., etc.............
I'm still "very wet behind the ears" with respect to this stuff. Shucks, I tore down my first Ruger SingleAction in the mid 1980's. I'm just a stinking "NEW GUY" !
