Usually it is caused by the base pin not being seated fully. The plunger in the base pin pushes it out to clear the firing pin. I have seen a plunger stuck in a base pin, but I have to believe it is quite rare.

If your base pin is "walking" during recoil, fit the notch and latch to eliminate the pin walking forward during recoil.
 
Thanks for the reply. Checked the base pin and worked the plunger a few times , cocked it about ten times seems ok now . I notice the base pin has some play forward snd bach when it is locked is this normal ?
