I finally got some experience bluing. I had a NM 6 1/2" .357 barrel I worked down a couple years ago. I decided to take the book off it. Looks much better than it did.
This is after stripping the blue off. The 4 5/8 is an om that I have to put a sight on before bluing. I am leaving the roll mark on it. Second pic is after working it down to 400 grit. I worked the slash on the right end off before I blued it.
This is after bluing with Oxphoblu. Turned out ok.

I then took a 5 1/2" single six barrel to the 'smith and had it cut to 4 5/8", the slot recut for the front sight. This was for a fellow forum member. I don't have any before pics. I worked it down to 400 grit the first time and blued with Oxphoblu. I wasn't happy with the result, stripped it down and worked it to 600 grit. Decided to go with Mark Lee's Express blue #1. Made a world of difference. The Oxpho left it looking streaky, may have been my prep or follow-up. I am pleased with the Mark Lee. The first pic is after working it back down. The next pics are after 6 rounds of Mark Lee,
After I get the 4 5/8 sight mounted and the bluing done, I am planning on having a karma drawing with them. Stay tuned!!
